“Tales from a Commodious Harbour” ?*
The latest news from Wakefield Press is that they expect the (very) long-awaited history of Port Adelaide to finally hit the bookshop shelves during October 2021.
After so many false alarms and disappointments it seems wise to wait until the books are actually present before arranging a Book Release Party – but things are certainly looking promising.
I have been so appreciative of the remarkable forbearance shown by all those who supported the project by pre-purchasing a copy of the book – and then have waited for over two years for it to eventuate. All I can say is that I have been privileged to see a draft of its 600-plus pages – and that Wakefield Press have done a wonderful job on its design. More news as soon as it comes to hand.
*This is not its actual title. Wakefield Press have given it a new name and a new cover.
“A History of Port Adelaide”
The second edition of “Tales from a Commodious Harbour” is in the final stages of production by Wakefield Press. It is due to be released in mid-2021. At over 630 pages, crammed with photographs and maps – and now with an extensive 18-page index – it will be a worthy tribute to Port Adelaide and its amazing history.
Walk Round Corners
Walk Round Corners … Port Adelaide got off to a slow start following its publication in June – but is now selling steadily. Copies are now available from Wakefield Press as well as this website.
