INSIDE

“It’s what’s INSIDE that’s important”

Following on from the making of Hey Doll!, attendance at Filmonik Melbourne 2021 provided an opportunity to make a second short film – a psychological thriller titled Inside. SAARA LAMBERG played the role of a kindly sister who offers help to a French woman, played by CLIO LEONARD, whose car has broken down. JANET WATSON KRUSE plays the second sister, living in a tumbledown cottage that is surprisingly different inside.

Filmonik is an amazing worldwide movement that fosters the development and promotion of short films by independent film-makers. The Melbourne chapter hold regular “Kabarets” where film-makers, of all levels of experience, can mix with actors and crew to make films together in a burst of unpaid, cooperative zeal in the space of just 72 hours! Inside was one of the products of the 2021 Kabaret held at Siteworks in Melbourne in April 2021.

FESTIVALS

Half the fun of making short “Indie” films is the delight when they are accepted for festivals. Inside was first shown at Filmonik in Melbourne in April 2021. Further acceptances (and awards) will be added as they arise. Sadly, the travel restrictions imposed by the COVID pandemic have prevented cast and crew members from experiencing the full delight of watching their creation displayed on the big screen at festivals around the world.
